I still love the franchise and I’m continuing it by currently reading the Kill Order-which is also ideal for a slow burn television series.Īnyway, I just thought I’d share my experience and hear everyone else’s thoughts on it. The books are much more fit for long form television than films. Overall I think they should reboot the franchise into a show. Death Cure actually paid attention to character dynamics, but the plot was still changed enough for it to be very different and a disappointment. Scorch Trials is one of the best books I’ve ever read and they completely changed the entire plot and motivation for the story. My goodness, the first one is just okay but after that it takes a nosedive into completely changing the adaption. So then I rewatched the first film and watched the rest of the trilogy. Fantastic story with fantastic characters. Let me tell you, I absolutely adore them. I didn’t watch the rest of the trilogy until I read the books, which I did just recently. I knew it was a book series and I generally enjoyed the first movie. My first ever encounter with Maze Runner was last year when I watched the first film in school.
